Merging

Botticelli

Merging is the ultimate nourishment for the Soul.
We merge with another and then both with God...

 A  perfect Trinity.
If this happens it can constantly be revisited

and can become a never ending source of energy...
Like Nuclear Fuel.
The sacred Fuel of Love.

Inner Spirit

Truly intelligent people know
that nothing counts in this world
except the inner spirit of things.

The Cosmic Plan

Bartolomeu Velho

The cosmic plan, what we as students call the Ray of Creation, whether we call it divine or not, doesn’t need you or me to reach its ultimate fulfillment. Yet our plays are unique. No one can duplicate them; we make our own cosmic history every second.
So what is the world becoming and what are we becoming? I’d like to think that we are renewing, regenerating as a new humanity...

Something in us

Rembrandt

There is something in us, eternally young, that can understand beyond this visible world, beyond phenomenal reality. But this one thing in us, eternally young, is lost by us in the world of objects and the external things of the senses, wastes itself in useless speculations which are without meaning for it, because it is capable of understanding a higher logic and a new world, utterly different from this dark world of sense and temporal logic into which it passes and in which it becomes lost. This magical side of ourselves, which in childhood we feel, is destroyed by life, and remains only as a memory, dimly felt at moments, recalling for a fleeting instant something that we knew once and possessed and which has gone out of our lives.

Direct Contact

Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Mervyn told us that we were embarking on the new age of the Holy Spirit (In Christian Speak); a time when we can be in direct contact with God or Influence C through Higher Centers.  Perhaps, it is here that students, old and new can be guided, inspired and reminded of what it was that brought them to the Work and the Academy, and their birth will be complete.

Open Your Heart

 Edmund Dulac

I cannot dance for your machine,
but look with openness into me
and we will greet each other, but beware...
Your machine will be around too,
and I reserve the need to protect my entrance.
Open your heart to me and I will greet you with me.
I will be patient while your Instinctive center sniffs around,
however it cannot do that indefinitely.
Hurry and join me.
To all of you I would say:
We are a small outpost in life,
where the divine has touched Man.
It is so delicate a sneeze can make it disappear
or even a nice thought.
We need each other to survive.
Verify what you must and then move on.
I am waiting for you.

Man was made,,,

William Blake

Man was made for Joy and Woe
And when this we rightly know
Through the World we safely go,
Joy and Woe are woven fine
A clothing for the soul divine,
Under every grief and pine
Runs a joy with silken twine.

Inner Temples

Remedios Varo

We are creating our own inner temples.
A place that is fit for a God to inhabit.
A place of harmony
for our own Souls to BE.

Ideal Conditions?

Do ideal conditions for a person beginning the Spiritual Journey exist?

This is a question I am often asked by students.
Normally what happens is this process begins without our intervention. It can happen anywhere and anytime.
It is not us who determines the
time and place or the conditions. When we first experience being present it is just like someone waking up. We find ourselves in a life. Male female, rich poor, married single, beautiful not so beautiful? It is not us who determines all this but a mixture of Fate, Destiny, Luck and Mechanics. Basically we have attracted a life that for many reasons has attracted the awakening process.

* * *

We all have thoughts about the ideal conditions and dream of them.
Somehow it is possible to start to confuse awakening of the Soul with ideal conditions for the body.

* * *

The point is we start awakening and this is the first thing we have to address. We awaken in Life and have to deal with the circumstances slowly if at all. This is why I want to remind you all that awakening is an internal process. First, the Soul must proceed with its awakening. Then slowly, ever so slowly, our Souls may begin to attract a different life. Or at least begin to attract a different play based on who we really are. We have to awaken first in the life we have created that is so hard.

My advice is no matter how difficult your play is….
keep going.
The impulse to go back to sleep is often irresistible.
Remember you have nothing to lose…..

except yourself.

That Skill

Joachim Patinir

A thorn entered your foot. That is why you
weep at times at night.
There are some in this world
who can pull it out.
The skill that takes they have
learned from Him.

~St. Catherine of Siena

...on to a deeper level.

Henry Ossawa Tanner

...on to a deeper level.
A level where souls exchange bright light,

and machines cease to exist.

Such brilliance had never before been observed by my eyes.
The many faces of Mervyn Brady came to surface.
Many unknown faces mixed with extraordinary figures were observed.

Before my very eyes I could see Leonardo Da Vinci and Einstein

among other common and brilliant men that I could not name….

My astonishment came with the understanding that Mervyn is

part of all of their conscience, and as he mentioned,
so am I and so are you.

"In times of presence we are all
connected to the most brilliant minds, and we ourselves
become brilliant men and women".

After the rapid change of faces and the many rays of light that
filled the room, the last face remaining was of an very
old friendly prophet that only had one eye.

The other eye ceased to exist and slowly
his face and body turned into pure Light.

I realized at that point that the one eye remaining was the
integration of all of the "I's",  leaving us with the one "Mervyn I".
The man that has managed to integrate all of his "Is"
and now wishes to share such accomplishment with us.

At that moment, there was only one Mervyn and that Mervyn
spoke of beautiful things that can happen when we are present.

Hang On

Gustave Doré

There are no guarantees. I would imagine, based on the laws of the universe that I have been blessed to see, if a person was fortunate enough to be given the gift of a school or a way to immortality, and they screwed it up for whatever reason, it is highly unlikely the Gods would waste their time in giving a second chance. In fact it would seem perverse, considering how many people are searching in the dark. You are lucky people, there are millions who would trade places with you.  If we do not do our part and fail, there is no guarantee we will have more chances. We have this one and must hang on for dear life.

Music

Rembrandt

Music is a verification of the laws we study; the law of octaves. When souls create music, there is a harmony within the notes. When souls are present there is a harmony within the moment.

In music we can verify that there is something more than just the mechanics. When the soul is the conductor, the song is a vessel that higher energy pours out of.

A Moment

Self-Remembering momentarily brings the soul into conscious being:
puts it in memory of body and spirit simultaneously.
 The three parts are aligned.
 Moment of equilibrium.
Moment of stillness.
Moment of truth.

...with help

Giovanni Bellini

Each one of us has enough power inside to Create,
with the help of higher energies,
of a third force,
what we want to Be,
what we want to Become.

Alchemy

John William Waterhouse

During our meetings we can often observe how alchemy 'works'.
We can arrive at the meeting in a state that is completely
different from the one with which we leave…
heavier energies are transformed into lighter ones.

Easily Lost

Édouard Manet

To act from a sense of duty, guilt, obligation,
fear, power, lust, etc. may produce the badge of nobility;
however, to act from love is to be nobility.
One is easily lost or removed,
the other is not.

Immersion

Albrecht Dürer

The knowledge is my words ...
The path is my actions ...
The truth is my inner state (or immersion with God) …
When this blessed state comes,
to be the SOUL in the room,
the knowledge and the path fall away.

Then it is as if this truth attracts what it is in God’s will to attract,
and if that is just to be still or doing nothing
then it is always right work.

Learning to live

George Frederic Watts

The i came to me that death as the human race sees it is
not death at all. Each one of our souls has work to do in
this lifetime, has an aim to reach a certain point in consciousness,
different to each of us. When a soul reaches that point, the body
cannot contain it, the higher state becomes all there is.
"Death" is merely a prolonged higher state. We as students
get a glimpse of our death every time we are present and yet
cannot hold it long enough to "die". We have not evolved enough.
In the work we are learning to live in order to learn how to die.

Passion

Caravaggio "The calling of St Matthew"

Each of us have our passions …
things that we feel deeply about
and put our energy into communicating
to our community and on larger scales …
It is easy to become consumed by them and have our passions
become hijacked by Crystallization and Feminine Dominance ...
Everything changes when our soul meets our passion ...
and the state of Love mixes with our Work.

No Angel...

Bernardino Luini

No Angel has been honored
to know for one hour
what has been ours for eternity.

What is emerging in all of us
can outlast the stars,
it was always here and always will be.
It is us who have to give birth to it.

Wisdom

Rembrandt

You can look in your memories and try to restore your origin. Once you've done it, you must stay true to it and act according to what you've discovered, thus opening the possibility of finding the wisdom that you seek.

Void

M.C. Escher

I do not know if you have noticed, but I think there is a kind of void inside every human.

Some people can feel it, others seem not to feel it at all, in general we do everything in our power not to hear it, or we try to deviate our attention and we frequently succeed, only to feel it coming back again.

This vacuum or void can be a reminder that we have a Soul, that it is hungry, and it can only be filled by its source:
Love itself.

Light

Because light is a metaphor for the power of consciousness.  Everyone’s consciousness draws from the same underlying reality. But it doesn’t really matter if history will remember
you as a great soul. At this moment you are expressing the
entire universe through your being present.

Radiate

J.M.W. Turner

I sit here alone and I radiate like a new sun being born, alone but not alone, in need of everything and nothing, everyone and nobody, happy and sad, tired and overflowing with energy. It is like being the two sides of the coin at once and both sides of every
coin minted.

The Greatest Teachers

Gustave Doré

The greatest teachers could raise their students into a state of Love, where the fullest appreciation and attention of ones own soul became the teacher.
Through the state of self remembering we are not limited to different points of study without connection and ultimately understanding.
Self remembering should become a more and more emotional state of connectedness, leading to the doorway of Love...to which the mind has no more to say.
In this state the landscape of your soul can become so sensitive to someone, even when they cannot explain themselves,
it can caress it's way like
a perfume and embrace the divine nature hidden behind
words and forms in another.
