Wake the Heart

Rembrandt

The whole thing, the most difficult thing, is to wake the heart. Somehow one has to learn to be able to live in the heart, to judge from the heart, as ordinarily we live in mechanical mind and judge from that. It is shifting the centre of attention in oneself. For the movements of the heart are so quick that only if one can learn to live there for some time, is it possible to catch them as they pass and obey them. This also means that we have to learn to feed the heart, taking emotional impressions directly there; just as we now take knowledge directly into the mind.

Today...

Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Today there is Compassion for you and me.
Today there is Faith that this path of purification will bring me to a place of complete healing.
Today I pray for Regeneration.
I pray for me to reach a place where, when I am in front of you, I will look at you only with the eyes of my Soul, I will see the Divine in you, I will accept and have compassion for our human nature.

to the table

Tony Johannot

So I had the i: How about inviting my negative emotions to the table? That is, how about putting a loving arm around them and letting them speak, so that they could offer their wisdom, and I could learn acceptance of every part of myself.

Accepting Your Life in This Moment.....

The Chicago Center of The Academy of European Arts and Culture invites you to attend this open discussion and meditation experience on the importance of Acceptance.

Learning to accept things as they happen and not the way we wish them to be is among the most challenging lessons we can learn. Being in the moment, the Here and Now, Present to what is, is the fastest way to let go of all that is not real and to accept what is.

During this gathering we will share experiences and practical approaches to opening ourselves to accepting our lives and appreciating each moment.

Please Join us!

There is no charge for this event!

The Wish

Remedios Varo

My observations are that one's mechanics dictate during the first phase and can knock you out of the work.  Next, one's desires and pleasures can lead you out, and lastly, one reaches a point where one is chosen and can no longer leave.  At this point what ensures one remains is the wish to remain above all else.
