You Raise Me Up...

You raise me up,
so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up,
to walk on stormy seas
I am strong,
when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up
to more than I can be.

Tramp Is A Gene ...

Peter Bruegel

Tramp is a gene
that causes a breakdown in the DNA Structure that deals with
Triads, Yes Triads,

Tramp will take the 3 Forces like all other Features
and begin an Octave.
It is a failure in the Mucus Membrane of the "Valuation" Gene
that causes the problem.
The Octave starts on course and proceeds nicely,
then a failure of this Gene
causes the Octave to "Break Up" and disintegrate.
Sometimes the "Break Up"
happens within seconds of the Triad starting the Octave.
One Antidote to this Malady
is to take Valuation Pills
which can be bought at any Academy Store.
The effect is rather startling.
First,
It helps you accept the illness
and stops massive amounts of Inner Considering,
which as we all know
is much worse in the great scheme of things
than forgetting to "Call" someone.

Second.
It helps build up resistance from criticisms,
abuse and Judgement "I"s
from people who do not "Understand" the Disease.

And thirdly,
it helps prevent those nasty "Self Judgement" "I"s
which can plague one.

There Are Many Positive Qualities ...

There are many positive qualities
of the essence of each type and centre.
But there are other aspects that are less positive
which we can work on to transform
or channel into positive areas.
For example the Martial type can tend to be brutal
or even sadistic but with presence
these aspects can be softened and /or used in jobs
which require the use of a power feature in a constructive way.
Charging across a battlefield
to attach an enemy is certainly in the Martial essence
but that sense of power can be channelled
into "attacking" an octave
that is perhaps large and intimidating.
The criminal inclinations and trickiness of the Mercurial
can be used positively in professions
such as investigative journalism or any type of detective work.
And this can be at the service of others.
Long term work allows us to be less identified
and therefore less compelled
to act from these qualities used in their negative aspects.
It is not the case that one needs to repress
or get rid of these elements
just that they should be in balance with other sides of oneself
and if possible used positively.

There Is A Lot To Learn...

Robert Sebastian

There is a lot to learn from being present to fear.
I had not felt my heart race like that
from fear in a long time!
It is worthwhile to be curious about what we are feeling.
When being present to those feelings,
we can be shown things when we are ready for it.

This Reminds Me ...

This reminds me of how I pick fruit and vegetables
and in those moments
I am choosing the ones with the blemishes on them intentionally.
I think they will be tastier in their imperfection.
They have a story to tell my palate.
The oddlier shaped the better!
If they happen to be there in front of me
I do not push them away with my eyes or hands.
I honor them and their journey.
So if I can do that for those edibles
I can surely do that for myself!
The beauty in imperfection -
a gateway to acceptance.

Much Friction...

Much friction seems to come into our lives
through our false personality,
that either wants situations,
people (including ourselves),
to be different than they are.
Our soul isn't seeking to change things,
so much friction will evaporate
when we live in our essence and experience life as it is,
without trying to change anything.

Our Union...

Edmund Blair Leighton

Our Union is like this:
You feel cold
So I reach for a blanket to cover
Our shivering feet.
A hunger comes into your body
So I run to my garden
And start digging potatoes.
You ask for a few words of comfort and guidance,
I quickly kneel at your side offering you
This whole book-
As a gift.
You ache with loneliness one night
So much you weep
And I say,
Here's a rope,
Tie it around me,
Hafiz
Will be your companion
For life.

I Am In The Process...

I am in the process of moving some worms
that are creating fertilizer for my garden.
It is to entice them into the new section of the worm bin
that has the new food in it.
They will be attracted to this new 'home environment'
and move on their own because it is good for them,
it is their survival,
it is their instinct to do this.
Of course, I am going to try to make it as easy for them to make that choice
as I can and eliminate any impediments for this to happen.
I am manipulating the transition in this case.
I bring this up because it is a process
and we are in process too,
we are not stuck as sometimes it feels.
There is something helping us to transition too!
What is there for the gods
once we move into each new space,
shed that layer of skin,
but this wonderful rich fertilizer we leave behind.

To Me...

Tara Baden

To me, designer friction
is here to Remind us how to be vulnerable,
it’s also an invitation
to invest our energy into the unknown,
while trusting the process.
To remember the law of impermanence,
(this too shall pass),
and then take the great opportunity
that each friction brings to us
in order to get closer to one’s true essence.
To have faith. To surrender.
Again, and again.
The good news is,
designer friction will appear as many times
as I need it to learn, to understand,
to work with my features,
to see myself.
The bad news is the same.

You Can Be God...

Aaron Michael Ritchey

You can be God,
the spirit, the real self.
But whenever I come across it
I abruptly stop and think "Me?!"
She is waiting for Me?
Who am I? a
That I am worthy?
And then I feel that deep understanding pulling at me.
It's the real I that is waiting for me
(the ordinary me) to find it's way to the real I.
Like those moments with Mervyn,
where he looking at us,
present and waiting.
He is seeing the real I inside the personality.
And because he can see this –
I feel that something is possible.

All We Have...

All we have about us
in our lives are the threads,
some sort of material
we could choose to wrap ourselves in knots,
or self pity or even hide under it.
The soul has the power to “Reconcile”
to attract Love and so,
match and reconcile the opposites,
creating beauty instead of discord and imbalance,
making sense of the pilgrimage
each one of us has here.

Perspective Came Into Being...

Perspective came into being during the Renaissance
and therefore also taught the soul too,
that it is not a flat thing.
It can gather its strength through understanding,
ring in presence,
appreciating beauty and accepting what is.
All of a sudden the heart joins into a new beating
and circulates the soul into a new and brighter world
of reason and hope so we are no longer
drowning in the din of everyday life!
This beautiful Art
and these words help to remind me of this each day,
and also each of your efforts and struggles too.

The Guest House...

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

She Who Reconciles...

"She who reconciles the ill-matched threads of her life,
and weaves them gratefully into a single cloth”.
(Rainer Marie Rilke)

He writes "Gratefully"!
I find that helpful.
It speaks of non-identification in work language
and seeing and experiencing one's life in a larger sense,
a greater sense of scale.
With the word "gratefully"
it places one in a higher world. Lovely.

The Juggling Man...

Adrien de Vries

The Juggling Man represents the balance of centers.
If our centers are balanced we do not fall over.
We need to stay vigilant and present to changes.
The juggler is not static.
He is ready to adjust himself
and changes his position slightly for new challenges.
This is a beautiful representation of our work,
we cannot really stay the same,
triads change and we need to move with the flow of life.
If we block one center
this flow is disconnected
and our desired state of Harmony cannot be achieved.
The juggling is not comfortable,
we need to be constantly moving
and be open for new ways.
Rilke called it 'walking on fishes'.

The Hope Of Loving...

Edward Burne-Jones

The hope of Loving...
“What keeps us alive?
What allows us to endure?
I think it is the hope of loving or being loved.
I heard a fable once
about the sun going on a journey to find its source.
And how the moon wept without her lovers warm gaze.
We weep when light does not reach our hearts,
we wither like fields
if someone does not rain
their kindness upon us.”

Working With Vanity...

John Clarke

Working with Vanity is a long term project
and requires all of our patience
with ourselves and acceptance.
Acceptance means acceptance,
that we have this thing we would rather not have,
but that we will not judge ourselves for it,
just see it and note it.
But keep at the back of your mind that with inner work
and presence over time,
you will most certainly change and Vanity will lessen.

A good sign of it becoming less strong
is when we start to really value others
and to actually LISTEN to what they have to say.
That is not half listen
and identify with our much “better” I.
That comes usually after fairly long work
at seeing ourselves,
seeing we are more or less the same as everyone else,
not better or worse,
in fact that we are brothers and sisters on the path.
~John Clarke
