Freedom Is...

Simeon Solomon

Freedom is worth a million times more than liberation.
The free man,
even in slavery,
remains a master of himself.

Nothing Has Such Power...

Heather Theurer

Nothing has such power to broaden the mind
as the ability to investigate systematically
and truly all that comes under thy observation in life.

I Loved It...

Sandro Botticelli

I loved it when Mervyn shared his stories of Venus,
especially Botticelli’s Venus,
coming to shore with the wind and sea,
all the powers of nature.
But it is Love that she cocoons inside
and truly serves with all her heart,
that alone is the highest intention;
long live, Love and Presence.

Nature Has So Much To Offer...

Nature has so much to offer.
Not only because of its beauty
but also because in its essence.
It is indifferent, unattached, unidentified,
which is the state we, through self–remembering,
aim to Be and live in.
This is "always" at the center of our Work.

Mervyn And Some Students...

Mervyn and some students were watching a really dark movie.
Understandably, many were distraught in a way.
But Mervyn was unaffected in a way,
because he was not identified.
I’m so in awe,
of the sacrifice of these identifications
that need to be made
to have the Soul Be Here in front through The seasons.

We Are Not Condemned ...

We are not condemned
to go out empty-handed at death
to meet the great unknown.
We can begin to prepare for the experience now.
Death's greatest advantage over us
is that we do not know where he awaits us.
We can take away some of his advantage
by awaiting him everywhere.
Practicing dying frees us from the slavery of this life.

You will live to watch your last thought glide away.
At the moment of death
the mind and all its delusions die,
and in that void arrives the boundless nature of the soul
and its eternal perspective.
Death does not mean annihilation and loss.
Death is a mirror
in which the whole experience of life is reflected.

As the sound of the crash of each wave signals its death
listen to souls being released home as the wave returns to the sea.

The sound of impermanence.
Like death's pulse and heartbeat.

We are terrified of letting go, terrified of living,
since learning to live is learning to let go.

Let go. Let go. Let go or you will hurt.

Do not grasp at the ungraspable.
Let go, you will not fall.

It Is Really Wonderful...

It is really wonderful to observe
all the multitude of expressions of this energy in nature,
I noticed having a desire
to have more of it in my presence;
such as fresh flowers in the home.
Nature really does provide the food for the soul
and many reminders to be more intentional
in my own energies and
spread that beauty to others too.

What Has Been Verified ...

What has been verified
is that Consciousness
is alive and seemingly without limits,
which can be seen through the multitude
of its expression through the conscious beings,
and the many other wonderful teachers that pierce us
as well as the variety of angles shared by students
in the School and outside.
This all shows
that as ones heart is open and accepting
that what one believes can evolve as ones Being deepens.

What Do I Believe...

John William Waterhouse

What do I believe?
Do I live my life according to my beliefs?
Am I committed to living my life
in the ways my beliefs are "defined"?
Are my beliefs alive in consciousness
or crystallized in form?

Working With Features ...

Working with features
is a beautiful way
to clear away more obstacles from your path
and truly see who and what you are
and even invite others around you to help out.
It is seen from above by the Gods
when we make efforts to try it to move fluidly,
then they do rush in
and help us with the Aim in hand.

Every Man Gives His Life...

Ivan Onnellinen

“Every man gives his life for what he believes.
Every woman gives her life for what she believes.
Sometimes people believe in little or nothing,
and so they give their lives to little or nothing.
One life is all we have,
and we live it as we believe in living it
and then it’s gone.
But to surrender who you are
and to live without belief
is more terrible than dying –
even more terrible than dying young.”

In Memoriam...

Montse DeNeira

It is with great sadness that I share the news
of the loss of Montse,
a beloved student in Puerto Vallarta.

May she be surrounded by Angels
and carried to that blessed place where
Mervyn can welcome her with loving arms.

Our hearts go out to her Academy family in PV
and her daughter, Nataly.

It Was When...

"It was when I was happiest
that I longed most...
The sweetest thing in all my life
has been the longing...
to find the place
where all the beauty came from."
