If You Think...

If you think you are too small
to make a difference,
try sleeping with a mosquito.

This Reminds Me ...

This reminds me of how I pick fruit and vegetables
and in those moments
I am choosing the ones with the blemishes on them intentionally.
I think they will be tastier in their imperfection.
They have a story to tell my palate.
The oddlier shaped the better!
If they happen to be there in front of me
I do not push them away with my eyes or hands.
I honor them and their journey.
So if I can do that for those edibles
I can surely do that for myself!
The beauty in imperfection -
a gateway to acceptance.

Much Friction...

Much friction seems to come into our lives
through our false personality,
that either wants situations,
people (including ourselves),
to be different than they are.
Our soul isn't seeking to change things,
so much friction will evaporate
when we live in our essence and experience life as it is,
without trying to change anything.

Our Union...

Edmund Blair Leighton

Our Union is like this:
You feel cold
So I reach for a blanket to cover
Our shivering feet.
A hunger comes into your body
So I run to my garden
And start digging potatoes.
You ask for a few words of comfort and guidance,
I quickly kneel at your side offering you
This whole book-
As a gift.
You ache with loneliness one night
So much you weep
And I say,
Here's a rope,
Tie it around me,
Hafiz
Will be your companion
For life.

I Am In The Process...

I am in the process of moving some worms
that are creating fertilizer for my garden.
It is to entice them into the new section of the worm bin
that has the new food in it.
They will be attracted to this new 'home environment'
and move on their own because it is good for them,
it is their survival,
it is their instinct to do this.
Of course, I am going to try to make it as easy for them to make that choice
as I can and eliminate any impediments for this to happen.
I am manipulating the transition in this case.
I bring this up because it is a process
and we are in process too,
we are not stuck as sometimes it feels.
There is something helping us to transition too!
What is there for the gods
once we move into each new space,
shed that layer of skin,
but this wonderful rich fertilizer we leave behind.

To Me...

Tara Baden

To me, designer friction
is here to Remind us how to be vulnerable,
it’s also an invitation
to invest our energy into the unknown,
while trusting the process.
To remember the law of impermanence,
(this too shall pass),
and then take the great opportunity
that each friction brings to us
in order to get closer to one’s true essence.
To have faith. To surrender.
Again, and again.
The good news is,
designer friction will appear as many times
as I need it to learn, to understand,
to work with my features,
to see myself.
The bad news is the same.

You Can Be God...

Aaron Michael Ritchey

You can be God,
the spirit, the real self.
But whenever I come across it
I abruptly stop and think "Me?!"
She is waiting for Me?
Who am I? a
That I am worthy?
And then I feel that deep understanding pulling at me.
It's the real I that is waiting for me
(the ordinary me) to find it's way to the real I.
Like those moments with Mervyn,
where he looking at us,
present and waiting.
He is seeing the real I inside the personality.
And because he can see this –
I feel that something is possible.

The Happy Virus...

Tashi Norbu

I caught the happy virus again last night
when I was out singing beneath the stars.
It is remarkably contagious, so kiss me!

The Soul Moves...

The soul moves at such a different pace.
We need to match that slower,
more intentional pace if we want to join the dance.

Be Strong And Courageous...

Be strong and courageous.
Do not fear or be in dread of them,
for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.
He will not leave you or forsake you.
