Divine and Secret Wisdom...

William Holman Hunt

'Divine and secret wisdom' as Dionysius called the way,
St. John of the Cross in agreement with this line of work
of course acknowledged that also,
one of his realizations being that the light
entered into the soul like a 'Ray of Darkness'
When we awaken the Love in one another
and through remembering and serving it
that darkness begins to be illuminated
in the great spirit of divine Love.

Now That I No Longer Desire...

Gustav Klimt

Now that I no longer desire it all,
I have it all without desire.

In One Sense...

In one sense we are looking at shocks
which have the feeling of agitation and movement,
and in another sense we have the quietness of waiting and stillness.
Is my soul waiting for the shock to open her path
her freedom or is she waiting calmly
for me to "get it" and wake up?

Perhaps the Most Difficult and Important Thing...

“Perhaps the most difficult and important thing
is to learn to wait.
And when one asks oneself what one is waiting for,
one begins to realize that it is for a moment of stillness,
without attachment to the past or future.
For in such a moment all kinds of exercises and perceptions
become possible which are never reliable
when one is hurrying into the future or out of the past.”

He is Richest...

"He is richest
who is content with the least,
for contentedness is the wealth of nature."

I Read in Scientific Detail...

I read in scientific detail about the radical transformation
a caterpillar undergoes to become a butterfly.
I'd never realized the caterpillar actually digests itself!
It completely dissolves.
"Imaginal discs" that were dormant in the caterpillar
are the only thing that remain and from those imaginal discs,
a new being is formed.
That being is completely different from the caterpillar,
only it can fly! It has wings! It has the memory of being a caterpillar,
but in its new life is experiencing the world in a very different way….
We too are the caterpillar.
With our machines, our features, our identifications.
But as we soften, these mechanical aspects of ourselves dissolve.
Sometimes parts of us actually disintegrate and die,
but the "imaginal discs" --
those moments when we've been in our Soul,
the real-Is we've experienced, the beautiful impressions,
the higher states...
those give birth to something new.
A more actualized Being.
As we dissolve more of our mechanics
and grow more of our inner world,
we too become butterflies.

We Were All Free...

We were all free of the social norms
and pressures of our society during the King of Hearts dinner.
It was a night of focusing on the light within each of us
and sharing that light with each moment that we spent together.
I realize how little it takes to be happy, joyful, present,
at peace and filled with love.
It is so simple and takes so little to experience the divine.
The ingredients verified this, simple candlelight,
a warm meal and shelter to keep us warm.
