Free Online Workshop: Monday, April 13th - 7:30 PM (CST) To See Onself
Am I willing to truly see myself in an unbiased light that will reveal all? ‘Yes’, I say to myself. And then the veils drop. Can I sustain the look? This is where the journey begins. Please join us as we explore ways of uncovering the Real within. To understand what I really am at this moment, I need sincerity and humility, and an unmasked exposure that I do not know. This would mean to refuse nothing, exclude nothing, and enter into the experience of discovering what I think, what I sense, what I wish, all at this very moment. ~ from The Reality of Being by Jeanne de Salzmann Michele Peterson is a fine artist and lecturer on art history and the humanities. She has been a member of the Academy for eighteen years.
Online Event: Saturday, April 13, 2026 - Discover Your Essence: The Most Interesting Stranger: You!
We spend our lives with ourselves, yet we are often the person we understand the least. We operate through unconscious patterns—scripts written long ago that dictate our daily reactions. This workshop offers a shift in perspective. Instead of trying to "fix" your tendencies, we invite you to observe them. Through the practice of Self-Observation, you will learn to witness your habits and the thoughts that reinforce them without judgment. By creating this small distance between yourself and your "scripts," you gain the clarity needed to lead a more intentional, conscious life. This workshop will be facilitated by John Manning. John has been a member of The Academy for 30 years and serves as one of its directors.
Albuquerque, NM - In Person Workshop - Saturday, April 25th - Beholding the Grail: A Journey Through
What if the Grail legend was never really about a cup? In this talk, we explore a 400-year-old alchemical engraving that encodes the entire arc of the soul's inner journey (from the cave of the hermit to the crown of the mountain) through the language of knights, beasts, and celestial symbols. Drawing on Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzival, the hermetic alchemical tradition, and the practical psychology of Gurdjieff's inner work, we'll trace the path that every serious seeker eventually faces: the taming of scattered thought, the mastering of emotion, the confrontation with instinct, and the radical act of uprooting what no longer serves. The Grail isn’t a treasure to be seized. It is a higher state to behold. Come find out what that means for your life. Jason DeGray is a professional writer and editor and an active member of the Albuquerque Center of the Academy of European Arts and Culture
