Your task is not to seek for love,
but merely to seek and find
all the barriers within yourself
that you have built against it.

The Fountain is the monthly newsletter of the Academy of European Arts and Culture, and serves as an introduction to the wisdom of the Irish mystic, Mervyn Brady. Free Zoom Workshop! Please note: This Event will begin at 7:30 PM Central Standard Time -- Inspired by René Daumal’s Mount Analogue, The Ascent explores the spiritual journey as a climb toward a reality that cannot be reached by intention alone. What does it mean to strive? Why does genuine inner growth require effort, sacrifice, attention, and “payment”? And what must we relinquish if we are to become something different from what we are now? Drawing on Daumal and the teachings of Gurdjieff, Ouspensky, Maurice Nicoll, and Jeanne de Salzmann, we will explore the mountain as an image of the inner life—where the summit may be hidden, the path uncertain, and yet each conscious step changes the climber.----- Tony Asta is an ordained minister for The Church of the Brethren and has been a member of the Illinois Center of the Academy for over 10 years.
