So many ideas
were very strange to me
when I first joined the Academy.
But I felt they had magic in them nonetheless.
Those which I allowed to be mysterious and magical
and trusted that they would unfold to me over time,
have been benchmarks and beacons for me in my journey.
Kept lightly in hand,
never doubting both their gravity and their opaqueness,
they have evolved in me,
until suddenly they came alive,
and I understood them in their magnificence.
Whereas, those ideas I struggled with too heavily,
seemed instead to recede from me.
Identification set in, clouding my view.
Understanding is such a beautifully mysterious process.
Bringing presence to those moments
when my inner world has insight,
but remaining open to the possibility of grace
in the long-term process,
both are equally important.
Openness, and patience.
