I Find That Mechanically...

I find that mechanically, once I have taken on an octave,
I cannot bear to stop until I have finished.
So much I want to do,
and I have to learn to have a wider perspective,
so that I don't start something
which will end up being just too much.
Efforts can turn into compulsion,
leaving me identified,
then my moving center takes over,
and there is no space left for the unexpected,
for the moment that the miraculous can come to visit.
In fact, something amazing may take place,
and my machine will be keeping me so busy that I hardly notice.

Happiness Is...

Happiness is when what you think,
what you say,
and what you do are in harmony.

We Are Loved...

Howard David Johnson

We are loved not in spite of being broken,
but I think even more so because we are broken down.
We have to allow ourselves to be ground down,
for something real to emerge.
God knows this…He won't leave us.

I Just Realized...

I just realized how much the Beloved loves me.
Sometimes when my machine is very active,
with moments of depression, anger and jealousy,
I am very often still feeling the Higher with me.
I realize right now how shocked my machine is
that the Beloved is still here and has not left me.
What Unconditional Love I am being shown;
I am actually loved, all parts.
I’m literally just having this realization now.
And that is what I feel for almost every bit of my play...
with everyone who is in it…
I must love more, accept more, live from the heart.

I Understood...

I understood that this struggle and then acceptance
and then release leaves behind a very real “hole” in the heart,
it's literally in the energetic body.
This is the space where I am not my machine;
the only place that is clean enough for God to enter
because it is not me.
This is the space where I can put my judgment, my pettiness,
my shame, my anger; this is the only place that can hold all of this.

Sometimes when I am intentional enough
and using this understanding ...
I feel that I have this enormous emptiness, like the icon.
Really it's probably a little pinprick,
but so real, because I can breathe REAL air.
