Planetary Influence on War: A Fourth Way Approach: Monday, September 14th - 7:30 PM (CST)
Free Zoom Workshop! Please note: This Event will begin at 7:30 PM Central Standard Time The common ideas that we have about war as a human being are very different from how we think about it from the Fourth Way perspective. In this revealing philosophical presentation we will explore our direct responsibility for the creation of war, and the importance of making personal efforts to end it. Join us to look at the REAL causes of war, the surprising part the planets play in it, and learn what we can do to help prevent it in the future. Jaime Valdés-Neri has been a student of the Fourth Way tradition and a member of the Academy of European Arts and Culture since 1996. A professional guitarist, Jaime studied directly with our founding teacher, Mervyn Brady, and has an ongoing interest in exploring the relationship of music to philosophy.
Saturday, Sept. 19th - Albuquerque, NM - Waking Up to Wonder: How Fairy Tales Speak to the Soul
We were taught fairy tales are for children. Nothing but cute, happily-ever-after content for kids to consume — charming, harmless, and ultimately outgrown. That's only part of the story! The old storytellers encoded wisdom too dangerous to state outright. Wrapped in wolves and forests and impossible tasks, these tales bypass the intellect and speak directly to the soul. This talk is not about nostalgia or reliving the good old days of Disney. It's about awakening to wonder through a language without words. Jason DeGray is a professional writer and editor and an active member of the Albuquerque Center of the Academy of European Arts and Culture
Discover Your Essence Series: The Most Interestin Stranger, You! The Art of Self Observation
We spend our lives with ourselves, yet we are often the person we understand the least. We operate through unconscious patterns—scripts written long ago that dictate our daily reactions. This workshop offers a shift in perspective. Instead of trying to "fix" your tendencies, we invite you to observe them. Through the practice of Self-Observation, you will learn to witness your habits and the thoughts that reinforce them without judgment. By creating this small distance between yourself and your "scripts," you gain the clarity needed to lead a more intentional, conscious life. This workshop will be facilitated by John Manning. John has been a member of The Academy for 30 years and serves as one of its directors.
