To My Guardian Angel
In a moment of surrender
You enter my chamber
Your perfume permeates the space
In between the second hand
of ordinary time
I am lifted up to greet you
I relinquish all possessions of self
My name, my mask
All identifications fall to the wayside
I am ready to be united with your presence
As a guest in my home,
I regret I am not the perfect host
At times I overlook tending to your every needs
In a split second, though,
I am reminded of your presence
You send a glance, and my eyes open
You sing, and I hear
You enter my heart, and I am full of love
With a gentleness of touch
Stillness of glance
I celebrate life knowing you are by my side
