Self Observation...
One
of the first things we are asked to do when entering the school is to
try to be present as much as possible and attempt to observe ourself. This sounds easy but you will quickly learn that it is not. Through
self-observation you will start to understand how universal laws work
in your life and slowly you learn to overcome them. As you progress in the “Work”, you start to slowly ‘awaken’. If
there is sufficient harmony within the body…. A very high and fine
energy will prevail that allows the soul to awaken and become the deputy
steward (captain) of the body.
When you start to observe yourself, you will realize that much of how you react to world, your opinions and your relationships are very predictable. This is what is meant when we refer to the body as a machine and we describe our inclinations as mechanics. We refer to ourselves this way in order to observe ourselves with some degree of detachment. The truth is that our body and all it’s parts is a very complex and extraordinary machine whose operating manual is available through hidden schools. Would you fly a very complex jet plane without first learning how? It’s not any different with us as human beings. We need to learn about ourselves so we have a chance of working correctly and completing ourselves.
