Mysticism

Fra Angelico

Mysticism starts with the raising of the Sails and the Gods provide  the Wind. To go into the open Sea is different than rowing around the shore.

Eternally Reproductive

Peter Paul Rubens

... Nothing divine dies. All good is eternally reproductive. The beauty of nature reforms itself in the mind, and not for barren contemplation, but for new creation.
All men are in some degree impressed by the face of the world; some men even to delight. This love of beauty is Taste. Others have the same love in such excess, that, not content with admiring, they seek to embody it in new forms. The creation of beauty is Art.

Marvelously Redeeming

El Greco

One of the problems that hinders men the most is his instability. One moment he is full of faith and conviction and the next he returns to his usual fears and doubts. We all repeat the case of St. Peter's terrible denial but without his deep remorse and its marvelously redeeming result.

The Present Moment

Simon Vouet

As we move through physical time, we have the possibility of tasting "timelessness" a state where past, present and future converge, where we can gain access to the wisdom of the ages and experience the miraculous.

~F

" The present moment is the point of escape from our three dimensional prison of space and time. For in this present moment, remembering oneself, one can put oneself in contact with a place outside of time and with the help of eternity, where all possibilities in their fullness are already waiting."

God could be mirrored in it

Thomas Matthew Rooke

I noticed a love or a charity towards myself which was refreshing, in lieu of self pity or other mechanical manifestations. This joy and acceptance of self was found in seeing and feeling happiness in others and attributing that thanks to God, to my soul being present so God could be mirrored in it. It really is a constant battle.

Conscience

Raphael

The soul has a choice to be with God
or hide itself to allow the machine precedence
to reflect on its woes and cares.
The virtues are designed for our bodies/minds lower selves,
in order that the body can allign itself
along with the wishes of the soul
 to respond to conscience{recognizing the spirit moving in us}.
~
God gives the soul a good shake to turn to his love,
conscience shakes the soul into true awakeness
allowing the gift to have a real hold
therefore a true communication with it's beloved.

The Heart

Rembrandt

"The heart is the ARK in times of storms."~y
 I am seeing more and more how the heart is becoming our ship.
Our attention is at it's highest when it is concentrated in the act of love.

True Love

Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Love has to spring spontaneously from within;
it is in no way amenable to any form of inner or outer force.
Love and coercion can never go together;
but while love cannot be forced upon anyone,
it can be awakened through love itself.
Love is essentially self-communicative;
those who do not have it catch it from those who have it.
Those who receive love from others cannot be its recipients without
giving a response that, in itself,
is the nature of love.
True love is unconquerable and irresistible.
