As A Student...

As a Student of this Work now for nearly 20 years,
I observe shifts in my Being,
and that of other students around me.
These shifts in Being take a long time.
and are where our Real Work is.
It is LOVE and Hydrogens that are the fuel for this Work.
But, alas, it is Work.
Let's not pretend otherwise.
We go to meetings for years.
For decades. Many of us have tremendous Knowledge.
We can recite journals forward and backwards.
Know every intricacy of the Body Types,
Center of Gravity and the 48 Laws.
We can analyze paintings for all of their esoteric meanings.
But this is just the first step to awakening.
Let's not get stuck here.
Understanding is where patience and work begin to go deeper.
Beyond Knowledge.
Understanding happens in the heart.
After years, the light bulb suddenly goes on!
Oh, that is what Mervyn meant
when he said man is not yet finished!
It is not yet the 7th day! So many "ah ha" moments
happen with Understanding.
I cannot possibly share them all!
And then, finally,
after year and years of truly Working on one’s self,
looking honestly at our mechanics,
our sleep --
Being begins to grow.
We soften. "Get behind me!!!" Mechanics --
I Know You. I Understand You.
Now my Being is going to put you in your place.
Only as my Servant. My Body Type is not my master!!!
It is not even me.
It is my car.
And Knowing all about my car does not make me Awake.
As Students, all we study -- the system,
the journals, the meetings...
All of that Knowledge actually makes something HAPPEN.
The Soul Grows. Being SHINES from us.
We are "different."
We are swans on the lake.
Being grows in Life.
Being sparks in a meeting,
but it is really doing the Work,
seeing ourselves with a willingness to change —
that is the wisdom that actually evolves us,
changes us,
makes us better humans.

It Is The Individual Himself...

Thomas Hart Benton

“It is the individual himself
who in the end has to get in there and do the work,
if he is to reap the harvest he wants.
No one else can do the work for him,
no one else can solve his problems,
no one can persuade him or coax him.
He must find something in himself
that longs above everything to grow, to struggle,
to wake up.
Then he may be some use perhaps, not otherwise.
This is how it seems.”

Acceptance...

Gustav Klimt

 Acceptance, swallowing it all,
the whole of life, without judgement -
the beautiful, the frightening-
that seems over and over again to be the key.

What I Have Verified...

What I have verified these past months
has been quite remarkable
and it is this openness on many levels
what I am understanding and learning and growing with this openness.
This life can feed us so much can teach us so much.
Each second. Each moment. Each breath.
Through presence.

Whenever You Are Defending Something...

Whenever you are defending something
you are identified...
no matter what.

Often I Would Realize...

Often I would realize that Mervyn was “Externally considerate”,
allowing others space to BE
and also the freedom to bud and flower and eventually bear fruit.
The gift of our souls
has the power to emanate this feeling of well-being
and confidence quietly into others.

He Who Would Be Serene...

John William Waterhouse

needs but one thing,
detachment."

I Am Sure...

I am sure all the times we spend together
with our souls and with our intentions,
help others so much.
We return to life nourished and more open
with new appreciation and a deeper desire to just give the soul.

I Need to Live...

I need to live more fully in this beautiful vessel
the gods have given me,
to be the home for my soul while I am here.
Like Whitman, we should celebrate ourselves,
our bodies, the nature we walk through
and absorb into our inner worlds.
Then we can SING! the soul,
through the soul of the universe,
in praise of all we have been given,
the riches we have been given through the GRACE of the gods.

My Soul Understood...

My soul understood
how the soul must leave the boundaries of its pot
and the roots of essence
must go deep into the nourishment of our ancestors.

I Know That There Is A Part Of Us ...

Arthur Hughes

“I know that there is a part of us which,
if we can find it, can know and do the impossible.
The logical mind does not know these secrets
and cannot know them.
But there is a place hidden in the heart
which does know and can tell us.
Only one has to listen very deeply to hear it,
and after it has spoken
one must not let logical mind explain it away
or tell us that it is unpractical or imagination.”

Our Souls Commune...

Our souls commune while we also overlook a beautiful garden
eventually reaching the sea.
It is in this atmosphere of magic
and intricate beauty that we are asked to ‘BE OPEN’
ESPECIALLY TO THE GRACE THAT surrounds us constantly,
which we may forget exists in our everyday existence.
It does feel special,
it is an opportunity to delve deeper,
to look within my mechanics and tune in.
Just now I was having the realization
that ‘I must bring passion and deeper awareness
to my movements’ including even movement of thoughts.
This grace seems to be an opportunity to ask,
really ask for what is unique to Me?
What can I offer, how can I refine my essence?
