Self-Remembering

I would strongly advise any student 

against thinking that it was their efforts alone 

that induced self-remembering.

A machine cannot remember itself, 

at best it can have a connection 

to the outside world through the lower centers 

and an instinctive awareness of its surroundings.

The act of self-remembering 

is when something "Other" than the machine 

kicks in or connects, and how can that happen?

I put it to you that when you are not present 

and suddenly that familiar connection occurs, 

that it is something outside the machine that "arrives".

At this point, you can make a right effort 

and try to prevail 

and sustain the state for a little while longer.

This is after all what you are studying at the Academy,

"The Art of sustaining the Will of God". 

You begin by trying to do "Thy Will on earth moment by moment".

Each moment you are present on earth so is C Influence.

There Was a Harmony...

In Life...

In life we are so consumed by i's, 

and the big i's - the big demons  

become the crosses that we carry. 

We carry these crosses 

whether or not we do it unconsciously 

or willingly.

In life

we are consumed by the burden of our cross. 

We can see especially in others 

since we buffer it,  how in life, 

people are closed down 

and attached to their sufferings;  

it's so easy and natural. 

Yet as students, 

we are asked to hold our crosses,

 to accept it, to see our suffering in a different way.

Like the bird of our souls 

flying over the earth of our lives,  

and in this acceptance, 

our possibilities become open to us.

This Gift of Love...

This gift of Love is shared amongst us in so many ways, 

when we are pierced and opened to higher influences, 

barriers and disruptions on our path disappear.... 

the third force of Love accumulates its strength, 

guidance and wisdom into the being 

no matter what the circumstance. 

Like the element water 

there is a way for it to seep into us 

and slowly saturate the being.

I Tried to Observe...

I tried to observe the moments when that voice 

(not the conscience) tried to steal the moment. 

It happened quite often 

and the realization 

that we must use time to our advantage 

in pausing always before listening too seriously to the chatter, 

or offering words in response.

THE PAUSE, 

is not a sign of lack of response, but a sign of strength.

I Am Convinced...

Observe the I's ....

Observe the I's .... 

remember yourself. 

But looking at it in this way, 

I am more inspired to open up to a different picture of the process. 

Like Alice sitting at the table 

with all the character eventually coming to love each one in a way, 

accept each crazy character.. 

as part of our play, yet not the real US. 

There is a distinction there, 

not to judge as "observing" could imply 

but to gently take charge and begin to understand in a new level.

In Presence...

In presence often when I'm outside, 

I find the trees, 

the leaves the flowers the grass wanting to be seen in my eye; 

they want to be seen by me. 

It's the most incredible feeling. 

It mirrors my soul that wants so much to be seen by God,  

and to be seen by others. 

Not as the clumsy machine that fumbles and does stupid things, 

but the real me.

Such a Miracle...

I Can Remember...

I can remember the first moment 

when I had an awakening 

and an awareness of something higher than myself.

I was 10 years old 

the snow was falling hard and I put on my snowsuit

and went outside in the dark 

and fell on my back to make a snow angel. 

I looked up at the night sky 

and a million stars 

twinkled my way 

while big beautiful flakes silently fell. 

Smoke was coming out of my mouth and nose 

and the crisp cold was refreshing and numbing at the same time.

The stillness and quiet penetrated deep into my being 

and I had a long moment of presence.  

I was connected to the Universe 

and everything was connected to me.

At that split second a vastness within myself 

opened and permeated everywhere.

My machine bowed to honor the entrance of my soul. 

I felt like I could stay there forever.

When We Aren't Remembering Ourselves...

When we aren't remembering ourselves we live in a narrow reality, 

partly conditioned by our sense perceptions 

and partly by the opinions we have borrowed. 

Our opinions, 

we fight for them because we believe them 

because they involve the ordinary feeling of ourselves.

of transformative ideas to change our sense of reality.

I Am Trying to Develop Strategies...

I am trying to develop strategies, 

using triggers and the like, 

to keep reminding myself to self-remember. 
This i itself is a good aim for me. 

For as I allow pauses, and slow the tempo of my life, 

something higher more easily enters. 

I've taken to opening up a book 

by a conscious being at random, 

for instance, and always I have an unplanned epiphany. 

And I have taken the annoyances, 

like an excessively barking dog 

and turned them into triggers to be more present. 
It's an ongoing process of remembering.

What I Have Observed...

What I have observed 

is the amount of attention 

that is being "used up" by the i's. 

Also the lack of aim...direction regarding my attention. 

If it is not directed it goes off on its own 

and is used by the lower centers.

However, in writing this it's also VERY easy 

to bring my attention to the higher, 

though staying and maintaining it is not so easy.
