I Remember One Day...

I remember one day looking at a vineyard in California
and thinking that nothing much was happening here.
Then Higher centers engaged and saw on a molecular
the sap being sucked up into the plants,
grapes being formed and bursting outward swollen with juice
and one saw how on a much slower time,
the whole place was as busy in fact as grand Central Station.
Perhaps just as one looks at the School
and might be forgiven for thinking not much is happening,
whereas on a slower scale Souls are forming and growing?

We Need to Make that Inner Shift..

We need to make that inner shift from outer to inner,
and become humble and "empty"
so that something real and true can enter and guide us,
then we can be of service to the other person who needs help,
and to the higher so that they can work through us.

It is Incredible ...

Gustav Klimt

It is incredible how the state of
self remembering' changes and ripens within,
deepening awareness of our surroundings,
and feeding the soul information so it may envelop everything that is;
filtering and balancing.
In the work these states are called, 'objective' states'
there is no judging, just a seeing and observing,
but it becomes much more than that.

I Cannot Dance for Your Machine...

I cannot dance for your machine,
but look with openness into me
and we will greet each other, but beware...
Your machine will be around too,
and I reserve the need to protect my entrance.
Open your heart to me and I will greet you with me.
I will be patient while your Instinctive center sniffs around,
however it cannot do that indefinitely.
Hurry and join me.
To all of you I would say:
We are a small outpost in life,
where the divine has touched Man.
It is so delicate a sneeze can make it disappear
or even a nice thought.
We need each other to survive.
Verify what you must and then move on.
I am waiting for you.

One of the Quotes Sent From Mervyn...

John Everett Millais

One of the quotes sent from Mervyn lately mention that,
' we have to be able to bear what we see in ourselves
and others in the process, it is necessary.'

I am seeing this process like a big pot of soup cooking,
it is really delicious and full of good things.
But I cannot serve it until I sift the oil
and others parts that have floated to the top.
This interferes with the flavor and integrity of my soup!
This process of purification is a vital part of our work.
There are many things I do not want
to permanently crystallize in my being.

The Idea That if We Do Not Begin to See Things...

Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn

The idea that if we do not begin
to see things in ourselves that horrify us,
we cannot evolve.
It is a necessary part of the process of awakening.
I have verified recently that the machine
can detour these important glimpses of ourselves
which we need to process and purify.
It can make us feel guilty, for instance,
and then we start to buffer.
Or it can rationalize these faults,
making them commonplace, so that we can go back to sleep…
I am trying to make peace with my features, s
o that I can lovingly let them go, let them be in their proper place.

When a Man Begins to Know Himself a Little...

Edward Robert Hughes

"When a man begins to know himself a little
he will see in himself many things that are bound to horrify him.
So long as a man is not horrified at himself
he knows nothing about himself.
If a man gives way to all his desires,
or panders to them, there will be no inner struggle in him,
no 'friction,' no fire.
But if, for the sake of attaining a definite aim,
he struggles with the desires that hinder him,
he will then create a fire
which will gradually transform his inner world into a single whole"

I Was Thinking of the "Call"...

I was thinking of the "call" that brought me into the Academy,
that moment of acceptance from which I have not looked back.
It was of such a different flavor
than the many months and years of searching that preceded it.
Mervyn used to say
that the sound of a man who has "found" this connection
is so different. His words are more like poetry,
the look in the face is illuminated.
When we feel called,
it is a new world
a sense of certainty comes in when the "i's" obscure this,
it is so painful. The Academy is a lifeline for us after this.
We must never forget that we are here
to help each other realize this.

Someone Who Lives Correctly...

"Someone who lives correctly already knows what he has to do.
A detached person enters into the flowing,
earthly life of the Godhead;
he does not attach himself to ethical concepts
or ideas of what God might want from him.
He sets being against active doing.
He has learned to have God in essence."

-Meister Eckart -
