These Faces We Have...

These faces we have, 

they seem like the outer living portraits 

of an invisible inner being that is growing 

and maturing along with our lives. 

The inner work we do, 

that inner work personal to each student 

that brings with it increased presence 

and transformation seems to become 

more tangible as our state of presence increases.  

More and more I see us living in essence, 

in soul and in spirit,  

as life takes us on its way. 

With the assistance of higher forces, 

we are transforming - 

faces becoming more and more beautiful 

as that inner radiance 

permeates the outer covering of skin.

When A Conception Takes Place...

When a conception takes place 

it is a momentous chance for a soul to be reached 

and fertilized by the force of another’s Love, 

from the depths we are seen and the cavern is shaken. 

Water trickles from the chinks of rock and gloom 

and we begin a journey of purification and release 

from our own dungeons of loneliness. 

It continues to be an arduous struggle 

to recognize and serve this awakening 

also to become more sensitive to the great 

and nameless silence that is serving the soul. 

The tiniest fluttering of true feeling 

can suddenly elevate the soul to new territories. 

As our being merges and understands that this is worth doing, 

these feelings of, being critical, 

speaking needlessly or hating 

becomes really worth seeing and worthy of transformation; 

this is the Work day by day, 

moment by moment.

The Soul Is ...

The soul is Love and Love is the soul, 

it is so apparent to me lately 

that the soul is living in the heart, 

it illuminates every thread and fiber of us 

and truly yearns to become us entirely. 

Once the creature has purified 

and settled accounts with life 

the soul partners with Love, 

the heart and essence 

to serve the Holy Spirit and be   

Life itself.

I Was Sitting...

Tawny Chatmon

I was sitting one evening with R, a student there.  

It was a cold winter’s night 

and we were sitting in front of the fire 

at the local Starbucks.  

R was a great gift to me.  

He was full of deep and probing questions 

and opinions to do with esoteric and spiritual subjects 

so there would be lots of food for the inner world 

to be nourished with. 

It was an enthusiastic and happy evening, 

all the while trying to stay present 

to the conversation and each other.  

All of a sudden it was like a pressure release and Pop! 

There he was  shimmering 

and forever renewing in front of me.  

I saw in him a reflection of what lives within me, 

an eternal renewing presence 

without beginning or end.

Returning To Presence ...

Returning to presence in the moment again and again, 

this beautiful energy of higher consciousness 

arrives sometimes quite unexpectedly.  

The mundane world falls away 

and a different perspective takes it place. 

There are many names for this state, 

each  religion or spiritual path 

using words for it from Zen to Nirvana 

to a higher state of consciousness. 

But whatever we call it, 

it’s living in the present.

He was going into the depths of darkness. 
And he knew that the nameless was part of it, 
and he just had to wait patiently and let it unfold.

When My Power Feature Comes Out...

When my power feature comes out I am gone. 

It overtakes me and I am shocked more and more 

each time that it is still a part of me! 

How can I behave that way? 

How can I be worthy of the work 

if this is a part of me?

Well, what can I do but go back to the work 

for guidance, and the conscious being 

who I owe a lot to for leading me

out of my dark night of the soul 

many years ago,  Marcus Aurelius. 

What I see now happening 

is that this time 

having experienced my power feature yet again, 

something has changed in a subtle way. 

I feel that I am buffering it less than before. 

This leads me back to my aim, 

to die a conscious death, 

to live each moment in presence,

to be with the angels here on earth 

and do the work to grow my being.

I Feel Into The Moment...

I feel into the moment of this morning 

with such amazement of little things 

that catch my attention

 that allow my soul some space to be 

and we are on a steadfast pace too. 

There is a roadmap, 

not the same for each of us. 

We have so many signposts

 though along the way to help guide us. 

I can see each different conscious beings 

with a different style of signpost, 

some flashing/neon, 

some old world charm, 

some just images and shapes.

Something I'm Experiencing...

Something I'm experiencing lately 

and also consciously trying to remember 

is that our body is a small object 

that is part of a great soul. 

Like the idea of Aladdin and the Lamp 

where when he rubbed the lamp (friction) 

a huge genie appeared and granted him 3 wishes. 

The genie is like the soul. 

Aladdin's misunderstood the genie (soul) 

and asked for things the machine wants and of course, 

found them unsatisfactory,

so on his 3rd wish 
just wanted to return to his original place. 

However, we can ask our soul 

for those things that are in the realm of the soul.
