It Is Powerful ...

 

 It is powerful 

to make our own connections and rituals: 

ones that speak to our individual being 

and understandings of this work over time. 

Then like a river or a little brook, 

something higher permeates all that is around 

and the song (our soul) can be heard 

and communicated in this level, to others. 

Knowledge esoterically speaking is rock, 

and the water is higher truth.

Water shapes knowledge and softens it, 

like the gaze of love 

instantly takes away hardness 

and bring fluidity.

I Have Begun...

 

I have begun a practice 

of "inviting the higher in" throughout my day. 

Something simple, 

like the striking of two stones together. 

No words, no pleas, just a simple invitation. 

It feels right to me somehow at this point, 

to begin to perceive my life 

as permeated with Divine presence, 

through just that simple act, repeated. 

I realized recently 

that I wait so often 

until I have reached 

a crisis to reach upward (or inward) 

for that Divine help, 

and always it is so powerful, 

the response. 

But this is different, 

more like an acknowledgement 

that the higher walks alongside me always, 

if only I will see it, 

feel it, 

access it/HIM/HER.

or at least begin to see.

The Work...

The work isn't in us- 

a living presence is us - 

if it is just a path, 

knowledge, study - 

no matter how much we want to value it. 

No part of myself can be held apart from God. 

I see so much 

how there are certain parts of myself 

that keep closing off and wanting to remain separate. 

I can observe those mechanics 

yet I still am unwilling to open myself. 

I feel how much my ordinary self 

wants something for itself.

The Other Day...

 

The other day, 

while high in the air in a plane, 

it occurred to me 

how beautiful the earth is from up there 

and it seemed that part of the beauty 

was that I could see 

a larger chunk of it than I usually can. 

Similarly, when one is identified 

or inner considering, 

one is seeing only a minuscule portion, 

if that, of reality, 

so it will look bleak 

and one will have friction. 

If, in that same circumstance, 

one is remembering oneself, 

then the beauty of the self, 

the other and the surroundings 

will become more apparent to the observer.
