Conscious Work: The First Line, Notes From the Online Academy Meeting

Sabine leads the Academy of European Arts and Culture online meeting with a focus on first line work.

Angles from meeting:

"Gurdieff gave us also great commandments for our first line work. Here are a few: 1. Be attentive of yourself, be conscious every moment about what you think, feel, desire, and do. 2. Always finish what you've started. 3. Do what you're doing your best. 4. Do not keep doing anything that may harm you eventually. 5. Develop your generosity without any witnesses" from Sabine.

"There are 2 sides of our work and they must go together, the 1st is the gradual weakening and the end destruction of the false side, this personal self which at present arranges our lives, the other a permanent guiding principle of consciousness which we have not got at present. we have to lose something we have and create something we have not-- giving up self will shows the way towards first, self remembering the way towards the second." Rodney Collin, from Naz.

"Finding that silent place among all the turmoil of the machine -- that place where the pace slows to that of the soul -- that seems to me to be the ideal of first line work." from Jennie

  1. The first-line is emotional for me. So deep. So personal. Looking forward to Being with you all.

  2. I am constantly reminded that only "I" can make my own first-line efforts. This is humbling because it is habitual to look to others to make my efforts for me....which is, of course, impossible!
