Jacob and the Angel

The picture relates to a story in the old testament when "Jacob was left alone, and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of day".

Jacob wrestles with his opponent all day and night until the break of dawn.

At this point the opponent reveals himself as an Angel and gives Jacob a blessing.

What this means in our language is that Jacob was a man who worked on himself over a period of time. He struggles to remember himself.

He is in the desert. A place that is neither home nor solace. We call it life.

His opponent is his own machine and its mechanics.

The breaking of dawn implies the birth of higher centers.

This is when his opponent reveals itself as an Angel.

In the picture we see Jacob on the edge of a precipice.

He struggles to awaken but could easily slip off the path.

Even though he has a weapon or staff he has to use his bare hands or his own 'understanding'.

On the bottom left hand side there are cacti. If he falls onto these he will be covered in needles.

The needles imply the various troubles, woes and I's of the lower centres.

The Angel is higher than Jacob. Jacob has lost the fight.

The Angel (his higher emotional centre) is holding him true and present.

Self remembering is ALWAYS the higher right.
