Glass

In the system, we have the idea of unnecessary suffering and Real suffering.
Unnecessary suffering is sometimes in imagination and sometimes through identification.
It is unnecessary because we don't have to. And it is unnecessary because it doesn't help.
IT DOESN'T HELP US EVOLVE.
Real suffering does. Real suffering pierces the emotional centre and goes straight to the Soul.
IF we don't buffer it. IF we don't waste the opportunity to, in Dante's words, 'grow clear and open'.
When I arrived home I began to cook my dinner. I looked at the bottle of Olive Oil and saw that it didn't have its metal cap on it.
In an instant my Soul started to make connections that my machine couldn't.
It saw that the bottle would be recycled. And that the metal cap would be melted down along with the glass.
It saw that at a certain temperature, the cap, along with all the other impurities in the glass, would rise to the surface.
Once at the surface they would be skimmed off and discarded. They were not needed and would only weaken the finished product.
The remaining glass would be used for some other purpose, a purpose that would be designed on it by the glass-blower.
The process of melting down the glass was the quickest and surest way of losing the impurities.
Which, once discarded would enable the glass to become 'clear and open'.
