The Empyrean

by Gustave Doré

When we remember ourselves, we are brought back to the realisation that all happiness, joy and sustenance come from within, from our souls. We realise that we never needed anything else, that we are fully sustained by the spiritual fire burning within our hearts.

And we can Surrender, open our arms and let the chains of our own bondage go. This is the “simple” part, but one we find so difficult, so long as we see whatever we are holding to as a source of our happiness. As we become the sun, as we realise we need nothing to shine – within us is the source of creation. And in time we laugh at the futility of carrying the very weight that bears us down.
